Thank you for the article to install Voyage on an Alix 2d2. I followed the directions and have a working system but am having trouble getting the networking to work. ifconfig only shows loopback lo. Running "dmesg | grep -3 -i eth" shows the initial boot found eth0 (and eth1) as:

eth0: VIA Rhine III (Management Adapter) at 0xe0000000, 00:0d:b9:19:b2:08, IRQ 10.
eth0: MII PHY found at address 1, status 0x786d advertising 05e1 Link 45e1.

Don't know much about this but I believe the systems is finding the ethernet ports at boot time. Where I found this I found and tried:

ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.99 netmask 255.255.255.0 up

but get the error:

SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
eth0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device

I'm sorry to bother you but I'm not sure where to go from here. The problem seems somewhere between the Alix 2d2 and your Voyage build so I don't know who else to ask.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I can now mount the filesystem on the PC. After running linux off the flash card on the Alix, I moved the card back to the PC and the mount command now works !

At least I am now able to boot and login to the Alix !! However, I wish I was able to mount it on my PC, I have a few things to configure (e.g. network, user space software, etc.).

I have the same problem:
mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/cf
mount: you must specify the filesystem type.

Thought it would be ext2:
mount -t ext2 /dev/sda1 /mnt/cf
mount: wrong fs type, bad options, ...

dmesg | tail
VFS: Can't find an ext2 filesystem on dev sda1.
